Vodafone Abolish European Roaming Charges this Summer
Monday, 18 May 2009
Vodafone will be abolishing their roaming charges from the 1st June to the end of August. So when calling (or texting) from abroad both contracted and PAYG users will be charged at standard rates! Vodafone Business users will also be offered the promotion.
The opt in process is very simplistic, and is described below. This is a great offer and will make Vodafone handsets a must have if you are planning on travelling around Europe this summer.
Official Information From Vodafone below: ----------------------------------------- Vodafone abolishes roaming charges in Europe this summer
Vodafone are pleased to announce the abolishment of roaming charges on Vodafone Passport in over 35 countries in Europe as well as Australia and New Zealand this summer. I’m sure you’ll agree this is a great proposition for the customer in particular with summer looming; this also will help aid conversion and drive sales.
What does this mean? From 1 June to 31 August all customers who opt into Vodafone Passport can take their UK home rates for calls, texts and picture messaging abroad with them at no extra cost. This includes any inclusive calls, text and picture messages sent back to the UK and within the Vodafone Passport country they are visiting. NB- Data is excluded
When is this happening? This will apply for a 3 month period for June, July and August.
How do I get this? Customers will need to opt-in to Vodafone Passport to get this promotion. Pre & Post pay will be directed to opt in via a SMS (text) short code which will be available on Vodafone UK.
- Only at airports will customers be told to dial 5555 as post pay customers using the SMS short code could have a delay of up to 1 working day before the migration occurs.
Which countries are included? 35 + European countries and Australia & NZ Albania Andorra Austria Belgium Bosnia Herzegovina Bulgaria Canary islands Channel Islands Croatia Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Estonia Faroes Finland France Germany Gibraltar Greece Hungary Iceland Isle of Man Italy Latvia Liechtenstein Lithuania Luxembourg Madeira Malta Monaco Norway Poland Portugal Republic of Ireland Romania San Marino Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden Switzerland The Netherlands Vatican City New Zealand Australia
